Unlocking Funding Opportunities for Community Groups in Somerset

At CAG Somerset, we understand just how pivotal funding can be for local community groups. Whether it’s purchasing essential equipment or supporting a new initiative—access to the right resources can make all the difference.

That’s why we’re proud to offer a helping hand through our Small Grants Fund. This fund, open twice a year to members only, is designed specifically for those smaller yet vital purchases, providing up to £300 to support community groups in their ongoing efforts. Whether it’s a compost bin for the community garden or a PAT machine to assist with safe electrical repairs, the CAG Somerset small grants fund has been awarded to members 24 times in the last 18 months to our members.

And there’s more good news!

This month, we’re thrilled to host a free online ‘Meet the Funder’ collaborative session, an unmissable opportunity for local groups and organisations to connect directly with funders. The session will be held on 8th July, held online 7-8pm. Representatives from Somerset Community Foundation, Somerset Council, and SUEZ recycling and recovery UK will join us to share valuable insights into the joint Waste Not Somerset Fund. The fund will re-open in August. The fund is awarded to community groups that have aims to reduce and prevent waste. It can be used to promote re-use, repair, and recycling within our communities.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your impact to the next level, we encourage all community action groups across Somerset to take part.

Let’s unlock the resources you need to keep making a difference.

Book your ticket for the free online event below. Spaces are open to all who are interested.

In some planters are canes growing peas. All plants appear to be seasonal summer vegetables. To the back right of the image are some sheds and the community allotment continues right through the image
