Celebrating a Brilliant New Beginning: Repair Café Launch for North Petherton and surrounding

At CAG Somerset, we are always inspired by communities coming together to make a difference and we are delighted to celebrate the successful launch of a new Repair Café, supported by our network. North Petherton and surrounding repair café held their first session on 20th June.

This fantastic initiative is a shining example of what can be achieved when local passion meets practical action. Repair Cafés play a vital role in reducing waste, sharing skills, and bringing people together, and it’s been a pleasure for CAG Somerset to help this project get off the ground.

A Community Effort Worth Celebrating

From early planning discussions through to opening day, this Repair Café has been powered by dedicated volunteers and a shared commitment to sustainability. These spaces aren’t just about fixing broken items, they are about bringing people together and this repair café is teaming up with the Noth Petherton Community Market to make an event that brings skilled repairers, crafters and a community café to one space.

What’s Coming Up?

The excitement doesn’t stop here. The Repair Café has already lined up upcoming sessions, giving local residents plenty of opportunities to get involved. Whether you have a wobbly chair, a faulty toaster, or clothing in need of mending, these events are a great chance to bring items back to life with the help of skilled volunteers.

1st July will see their first pop up event at Moorland village hall, followed by the next North Petherton event on 18th July.

Got an Idea? Let’s Make It Happen

If you’ve been inspired by this Repair Café and have an idea you’d love to bring to life in your own area, we’d love to hear from you.

Whether it’s a swap event, community garden, refill initiative, or something completely new CAG Somerset is here to help. We can support you with advice, funding guidance, and connections to like-minded groups.

Together, we can keep building stronger, more sustainable communities across Somerset.
