People Powered Change

CAG Somerset provides free support to a thriving network of local Community Action Groups. Each group is working to improve environmental sustainability and resilience locally.  Group activities include reuse, repair, waste reduction, sharing, surplus food, composting, tackling climate change or encouraging sustainable behaviours within communities as part of their wider ambitions.

Meaningful impact from CAG members

From April 2024 to April 2025, CAG network members have continued to demonstrate the incredible impact that can be achieved when people unite around shared goals. The infographic above draws on data collected from CAG Somerset members, highlighting their inspiring work. We’re proud to support this growing network of individuals committed to building stronger, more connected, and resilient communities.

One toaster repaired or a single loaf of bread saved may seem small in isolation—but together, these actions have the power to create meaningful change.

We’re constantly inspired by the achievements of our CAG members, and we can’t wait to see what this expanding network will accomplish next.
