Keep on wheeling this winter with Frome Community Bike Project.

It may be colder and darker but the Frome Community Bike Project wants to help local cyclists stay on the roads safely during the winter months. Cycling all year round is essential for many, not only as an economical mode of transport to commute to work, but as a convenient way to transport children to and from school.

The professional mechanics at the Workshop can help advise and fit those soggy season essentials, mudguards and lights, and kit cyclists out with high vis equipment to increase visibility on the roads. With new opening hours at the Workshop at Station Approach , there’s plenty of opportunity to drop bikes in and pick up equipment .

The Workshop has also recently added an e-cargo bike service to the regular bike service menu . These workhorses of the bicycle world are very popular with both businesses and families in Frome and need to be safe and reliable. Our experienced mechanics can give your e-cargo bike a free professional inspection and after a thorough assessment, will advise if any further action needs to be taken. If needed, an e-cargo bike General Service is £95. For further information and to book a free assessment, please email workshop@fromebikeproject.org .

As well as extended opening hours at the Workshop, FCBP will be out and about during November with a free group bike ride to Mells on Tuesday 18th November and Dr Bike will be at the Frome Cobble Wobble on Sunday 23rd November, offering free cycling advice and bike maintenance tips so take your bike along for a check-up even if you’re not taking part in the event!

To keep up to date with all the news and events happening at FCBP, please sign up to the newsletter and follow on social media.

All profits from Frome Community Bike Project go to Frome’s Missing Links, a local charity working to link up traffic-free routes in and around Frome. More information on the charity and how you can support them can be found on their website, fromesmissinglinks.org.uk .

A picture of a community allotment. wooden planters are in neat rows with small paths between them. Within the planters are different green leafy plants of varying heights. In some planters are canes growing peas. All plants appear to be seasonal summer vegetables. To the back right of the image are some sheds and the community allotment continues right through the image
