CAG Somerset hits 50!
CAG Somerset now has 50 members! Launched in November 2023, our journey began with a simple but powerful vision: to build a thriving community of groups working together on reuse, repair, surplus food, composting, sharing, climate action and sustainable behaviour change. Fast forward to today, and that vision has blossomed into a dynamic, diverse network that’s making real impact across Somerset.
Connection is at the heart of what we do. Over the past two years, we’ve hosted 15 online Collaborate sessions, bringing together attendees to share ideas, challenges, and inspiration. These sessions have become a cornerstone of our network, fostering a sense of solidarity and shared purpose.
We’ve also delivered 22 workshops and training sessions, supporting 195 participants in building skills that empower their work. From social media strategy to PAT testing, first aid, digital skills, and safeguarding, our training reflects the real-world needs of our members. And we’re proud to say—we listen. We’re responsive, relevant, and always evolving with our community.
We have expanded further to add a new Connector membership, designed to welcome larger organisations and groups who wish to connect with our members in support. We hope to work alongside Connector members to offer further opportunities, support and collaboration to further strengthen the network.
Reaching 50 members is more than a number—it’s a testament to the power of collaboration, community, and shared vision. As we look to the future, we’re excited to continue growing, learning, and supporting one another in creating a more sustainable Somerset.
To every group, volunteer, and supporter who’s been part of this journey: thank you.
