Marketing and Communications Volunteer Opportunity- Green Ilminster

Role Overview:
Green Ilminster is seeking a passionate and motivated Marketing and Communications
Volunteer to help manage our online presence and promote our activities within the
community. This role is vital in ensuring our events and initiatives reach a wider audience
and that our communications are engaging and effective.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Website Management:
    ○ Regularly update and maintain the events page on the Green Ilminster
    website to ensure accurate and timely information.
    ○ Assist in enhancing website content to improve user experience and
    engagement.
  2. Newsletter Management:
    ○ Collate content and manage the production of the quarterly newsletter,
    ensuring it reflects our activities and upcoming events.
    ○ Coordinate with team members to gather stories, updates, and information for
    the newsletter.
  3. Event Promotion:
    ○ Create visually appealing posters for events, adhering to the Green Ilminster
    branding and style guidelines.
    ○ Ensure all promotional materials are distributed effectively both online and
    offline.
  4. Social Media Management:
    ○ Manage Green Ilminster’s social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Twitter,
    Instagram), posting regularly about activities, events, and initiatives.
    ○ Develop engaging content that promotes community involvement and raises
    awareness of Green Ilminster’s mission.
  5. Community Engagement:
    ○ Respond to comments and messages on social media, fostering a sense of
    community and encouraging participation in events.
    ○ Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and implement new marketing
    strategies to increase visibility and engagement.
    Qualifications:
    ● Strong interest in marketing, communications, or community engagement.
    ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    ● Familiarity with social media platforms and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva,
    Adobe Creative Suite).
    ● Organized and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
    ● Previous experience in a similar role or relevant coursework is a plus, but not
    required.
