Designing for community change

Community Action Groups are powered by passionate, skilled people from all walks of life. At CAG Somerset, we’re committed to helping these volunteers thrive – supporting them to build new skills, strengthen the ones they already have, and grow the confidence and resilience needed to lead change in their communities.

In March, seven volunteers from five different groups joined us in Street for a hands‑on Canva workshop. The session was created in direct response to feedback from our annual volunteer survey, where many people told us they wanted more support in designing eye‑catching posters and social media content. By learning how to create clearer, more engaging visuals, participants are now better equipped to spread the word about their projects and inspire even more community involvement.

We’re always listening to what members tell us they need, so if you are part of a community action group and think you could benefit from some tailor made support to achieve your aims, then reach out to a members of the team at hello@cagsomerset.org.uk to find out more about our free membership
