Glastonbury Repair Cafe

Saturday, 16 November @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

A logo entitled 'Glastonbury Repair Cafe' . To the right of the text is a line drawing of Glastonbury Tor but instead of the tower, a golden wrench is at the top.

Glastonbury Repair Café started in October 2021; we hold sessions every 3rd Saturday in the month from 10am-12 in St Benedict’s Church, Benedict Street.  You can bring all manner of broken house or garden items and sit with one of our seasoned expert menders who will help you identify the fault and try to fix it.  We don’t guarantee success, but have fun trying to work it out, pass on the skills and confidence to repair; this helps build resilience too as it’s obvious we are going to have to help each other more on many levels in the near future. Clearly it is cheaper to repair a pre-loved item than buy a new one and certainly easier and less costly than looking for a commercial repairer.

It is open to everyone, has a great welcoming atmosphere and serves hot drinks and delicious cake – all this, and the mending is for a reasonable donation to help keep us going.   Repair Café also helps create and maintain local social networks. You don’t have to have a broken item to come and see us

A picture of a community allotment. wooden planters are in neat rows with small paths between them. Within the planters are different green leafy plants of varying heights. In some planters are canes growing peas. All plants appear to be seasonal summer vegetables. To the back right of the image are some sheds and the community allotment continues right through the image
