Fresh Fundraising: Practical ideas for community groups

Fundraising doesn’t have to mean endless events, application forms, or asking the same people again and again.

This interactive session explores fresh and accessible ways to raise money by making the most of digital tools, working with your existing “crowd”, building simple partnerships with local businesses, and unlocking super‑local funding from supermarkets and retailers. Plus hear from CAG Somerset Connector members On Your Bike on the secrets of their £20,000 crowdfunding success!

We’ll share practical tips and real‑world examples you can adapt straight away – from low‑effort digital tweaks to community‑powered fundraising and hyper‑local grants that often go under the radar.

You’ll leave with:

  • New fundraising ideas you can test immediately
  • A better understanding of harnessing your group’s impact to unlock valuable income streams
  • The opportunity to follow up with 121 support from the CAG Somerset team to discuss your specific fundraising needs

This is a CAG Somerset and Devon training session for members only. If you would like to discuss membership or have questions about this event please email

A picture of a community allotment. wooden planters are in neat rows with small paths between them. Within the planters are different green leafy plants of varying heights. In some planters are canes growing peas. All plants appear to be seasonal summer vegetables. To the back right of the image are some sheds and the community allotment continues right through the image
