CAG Somerset knows the importance of keeping our community members safe and the vital role that community action groups play in this. We want our network members and volunteers to feel confident that they have all the skills to act in situations that may arise.

We have teamed up with Alex from First 4 Aid training to provide a basic first aid and AED (Automatic External Defibrillation) use training session. The session will cover

  • What to do in an emergency
  • First aid for the unconscious casualty
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Heart anatomy and conditions to include Heart attack/Angina/sudden cardiac arrest
  • Automatic External Defibrillation (including AED use)
  • First aid for someone who is choking
This session is available to all volunteers of CAG Somerset members. Please book two spaces per group initially and we will release further spaces should they be available. This is to ensure as many groups as possible have competent and confident first aiders.

The session is 4.5 hours long and we will have a 30 minute break mid way for lunch. Please bring a lunch with you as this will not be provided.

Hot drinks (and a few biscuits of course!) will be provided.

If you have any questions about this session please email maxine.anderton@resourcefutures.co.uk

A picture of a community allotment. wooden planters are in neat rows with small paths between them. Within the planters are different green leafy plants of varying heights. In some planters are canes growing peas. All plants appear to be seasonal summer vegetables. To the back right of the image are some sheds and the community allotment continues right through the image
