Community Food Roundtable: Supporting the Future of Fridges, Kitchens, Pantries and Larders.

CAG Somerset, in collaboration with Jill Loader, Somerset’s Food Resilience Officer, is hosting a roundtable event for community fridges, kitchens, and pantries across the county.

This event is open to community groups— including both CAG members and non-members — and aims to bring together community groups to share ideas, experiences, and practical solutions to help food projects sustain, grow and thrive.

We’ll be focusing on key topics such as:

  • Building long-term sustainability for community food initiatives
  • Making the most of surplus food from supermarkets and other sources
  • Supporting the financial sustainability of projects with funding consultant and chair of ‘Love Glastonbury’ Miranda Millan
  • Helping fridges, kitchens, and pantries to expand their impact and build stronger local networks

Whether you’re already running a project, just starting out, or looking to get involved, this roundtable is a space to connect, collaborate, and find support.

A picture of a community allotment. wooden planters are in neat rows with small paths between them. Within the planters are different green leafy plants of varying heights. In some planters are canes growing peas. All plants appear to be seasonal summer vegetables. To the back right of the image are some sheds and the community allotment continues right through the image
