About our group

Victoria Park Local Pantry operates from Victoria Park Community Centre; we are open for member collections every Tuesday from 2 – 4pm. We are a membership scheme, currently with 30 members, and a short waiting period for new members but we’re hoping to grow to 45 members soon. We work predominantly with FareShare who deliver food that would otherwise go to waste, and we share it among our members. We have a friendly team of volunteers who help run the pantry and enjoy a good chat with our members. Membership is currently £3.50 a week and you can expect to receive between £3.50 and £20 worth of food each week from fruit and vegetables, dry and tinned goods and chilled items. Each week is different depending on what is available. We are looking to run some food demonstrations and other events in the theme of reduce, reuse, recycle.

A picture of a community allotment. wooden planters are in neat rows with small paths between them. Within the planters are different green leafy plants of varying heights. In some planters are canes growing peas. All plants appear to be seasonal summer vegetables. To the back right of the image are some sheds and the community allotment continues right through the image
